Il Salviatino lies on a wooded hillside in Fiesole, just 4 miles away from the centre of Florence. The hotel enjoys fabulous views over the city, and the famous Duomo can be reached within a 10-minute drive. Il Salviatino is an aristocratic Florentine villa, restored back to its former splendour by the passion of its family owners. Splendid original features; frescoes, an old sarcophagus reincarnated as a guest suite bath tub, and a network of rediscovered garden pathways lend the villa its own unique personality.
Due to open in April 2010, the Devarana Spa is tucked within the villa’s sloping Italianate gardens. The treatment menu offers a holistic taste of the East practised by skilled Thai therapists. Relaxation rituals include a romantic Florentine rose petal experience, lavender body scrubs and even an ‘after wine-tasting’ treatment.
Warm décor and intricate artwork grace all rooms and suites in Il Salviatino. All Deluxe rooms are located in the main villa and feature sit down rain showers, coffee and tea facilities, remote lighting controls, handmade linen bedding, plasma TV, high-speed wireless internet access, and views of the Tuscan countryside.
Junior Suites offer more space and are located both in the main villa and in the garden green house area. Individual décor varies, although all Junior Suites feature en-suite bathrooms and a cosy snug/den area separate from the main bedroom, some on mezzanine floors.
The villa’s commitment to providing top class and friendly hospitality continues in its ‘Grappolo’ cuisine philosophy developed by acclaimed Florentine chef Saverio Sbaragli. Tuscan classics are served in La Terrazza together with fabulous views over the Dome, whilst in Le Serre’s more secluded greenhouse area the same ingredients take on a more modern twist.
